The Anointing Gone

1 SAMUEL 12:18:

"SO SAMUEL CALLED UNTO THE LORD: AND THE LORD SENT THUNDER AND RAIN THAT DAY: AND ALL THE PEOPLE GREATLY FEARED THE LORD AND SAMUEL."

Saul did wrong when he offered burnt offerings himself to the Lord. He chose not to wait on Samuel. Which the Lord had made known to the people by signs and wonders that Samuel was the one the Lord chose to deliver the Word of the Lord and to present what the Lord wanted. Saul wanted the people to look at him with fear. In verse 11 of 1 Samuel 13:11-12; he stated; "When I saw that the people were scattered from me and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash, then I said the Philistines will come down on me from Gilgal."

Fear of the Lord wasn't in him, he wanted the Fear of the Lord for himself. Samuel informed him that God would have established his kingdom and ministry over Israel forever, but now because he did not keep the commandment of the Lord, Samuel said the Lord said, that his kingdom will not continue, and that the Lord has sought a man after His Own Heart, and that He will sat him as commander over the people.

1 Samuel 15:10-11; "NOW THE WORD OF THE LORD CAME TO SAMUEL, SAYING, 'I GREATLY REGRET THAT I HAVE SET UP SAUL AS KING, FOR HE HAS TURED BACK FROM FOLLOWING ME, AND HAS NOT PERFORMED MY COMMANDMENTS.' AND IT GRIEVED SAMUEL, AND HE CRIED OUT TO THE LORD ALL NIGHT."

The Lord lifted the anointing from him and placed that anointing has ruler over Israel on another. 1 Samuel 15:26; "SAMUEL SAID, I WILL NOT RETURN WITH YOU, FOR YOU HAVE REJECTED THE WORD OF THE LORD, AND THE LORD HAS REJECTED YOU FROM BEING KING OVER ISRAEL."

Samuel said I won't go with you because you have rejected the Word of God to you, Saul crys and grabs Samuels robe and tares it. Then Samuel says; "The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better then you."

After saying this, Samuel also says; "AND ALSO THE STRENGTH OF ISRAEL WILL NOT LIE NOR RELENT. FOR HE IS NOT A MAN, THAT HE SHOULD RELENT," Verse 29.

Then after Samuel decreed the Word of The Lord to Saul, he does this:

"THEN HE SAID, 'I HAVE SINNED; YET HONOR ME NOW, PLEASE, BEFORE THE ELDERS OF MY PEOPLE AND BEFORE ISRAEL, AND RETURN WITH ME, THAT I MAY WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD! SO SAMUEL TURNED BACK AFTER SAUL, AND SAUL WORSHIPED THE LORD," 15:30-31.

Now here is todays lesson:

1.) 1 Samuel 15:1-31; Read this and ask yourself these questions
a) The Word of the Lord to Samuel was to tell Saul what?
b) Did Samuel hear the Word of God clearly?
c) Did God anoint Saul?
d) Did Samuel obey what he said to that he heard the Lord say when he turned and went after Saul and Saul worshiped the Lord?
e) Did the Lord accept that worship of Sauls?

2.) When the anionting is gone, what happens to the heart of that person?
a) Does it become hard?
b) Do you believe it impossible to truely love the Word of God 100%?
c) Could Saul get back what he lost, after the prophet said the Strength
of Isreal will not relent?
